Michael is a partner in the litigation division and has undertaken commercial litigation for the past 30 years. His clients have ranged from individuals to substantial business corporations as well as listed public companies.
Drawing on more than 30 years of industry experience, Michael undertakes complex commercial litigation as well as advising commercial clients in relation to banking, financial matters, commercial leasing, as well as estate and probate matters.
During the past 15 years, Michael has acted on behalf of many high net worth individuals in well-known and documented cases. These have involved estate disputes, trust disputes and more general commercial matters. Michael has had extensive experience with Corporations Act matters involving oppression suits and applications to wind up companies on the grounds that the relationship between shareholders had become totally dysfunctional.
Prior to joining Diamond Conway in September 2010, Michael was senior litigation partner at McLachlan Chilton and acted for listed public companies across a wide range of commercial disputes. He has particular expertise in insolvency and continues to undertake insolvency and restructuring matters on a regular basis. He is also well versed in employment law having acted for many high worth individuals involved in employment matters. These matters have not only been run in the Fair Work Commission but also the Supreme and Federal Court.
Michael is also a former office of the Australian Treasury.
